As part of its efforts to modernize the maintenance methods and rehabilitation of the university's buildings, the Department of Construction and Projects invited Al-Omran Group for General Contracting, one of the agents of Berger International Paints, to come to the university to showcase their modern technologies. The call included implementing two applied models of the latest methods used in rehabilitating old buildings.
- The first model works on rehabilitating old floors, where a practical model was implemented that shows how to rehabilitate old floors using advanced modern materials, where the materials displayed their capabilities in improving floors and increasing their resistance to friction and corrosion.
- The second model works on treating the facades of old buildings, where the materials were tested and their capabilities were shown to show the facades decently and appropriately reflect the aesthetic identity of the buildings.
The implementation of the two models witnessed the presence of the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Farhad, and the Director of the Construction and Projects Department, Dr. Oday, as well as the participation of a group of engineers from the Construction and Projects Department in following up the implementation of these models, where the effectiveness of the materials and techniques used and their wider applicability within the university were evaluated.
The use of modern technologies in the maintenance and rehabilitation of university buildings reflects the commitment of the Department of Construction and Projects to provide the best solutions to ensure the sustainability and improvement of infrastructure. Through collaboration with companies specialized in this field, the department seeks to adopt best practices and technologies that meet the needs of the university and support its future vision.
