The Department of Construction and Projects has undertaken a comprehensive rehabilitation process for the external walkways of the Technological University Presidency building. The executed works included several steps aimed at improving and renewing the walkways, and the tasks were detailed as follows:
• The team removed the old granite flooring from the walkways around the Presidency and cleared the debris.
• Demolition work was carried out for the flowerbeds in the external walkways of the Presidency, with debris removed from the university premises.
• Concrete flooring was poured in the walkway leading to the Presidency's entrance and the corridor opposite the incoming and outgoing rooms, using resistant concrete, sand, and crushed gravel with reinforcement through expansion joints.
• The team used cement and sand to apply new granite to the flooring in front of the information desk entrance, the side door, and the side ramp.
• Flowerbeds in the walkways were designed and poured using reinforced concrete and rebar, with the inner surface polished using plywood.
• Layers of granite and rounded porcelain were applied to the surface, finished with a marble-specific material.
• Flowerbed walls were painted with moisture-resistant epoxy paint, and granite mirrors were applied using a particular substance.
• Ground lighting brackets were installed with lighting fixtures connected to a control panel, and power outlets were installed with plastic pipes.
• Marble and cobblestone pieces were installed on external walls and around the walkways using adhesive materials and cementitious seam filler.
• Expansion joints for the walkways around the Presidency were filled using polysulfide material.
• The metal tank was removed, and a plastic water tank was prepared, installed, and connected with accessories.
These works were carried out according to technical standards and specifications, and the relevant committee approved the results. Daily site cleaning was ensured during the work period, with no work residues left for the next day.
