30 November 2023

As part of the continuous improvement of infrastructure and facilities at the Technological University, the Department of Construction and Projects carried out a floor-covering process in the corridors and some essential rooms in the University Presidency building. These works were conducted by the directives of the supervisory committee, characterized by precise use of materials and skilled labor to ensure the execution of the job with high quality and efficiency.

The activities undertaken in this project included several essential steps:

  • Material Preparation: All required materials were prepared before commencing the work. This procedure ensured that the used materials, such as plastic tiles and their adhesive, complied with approved standards and specifications. The quality of these materials was examined to ensure they met the required criteria.

  • Removal of Old Carpet: The old carpet in the targeted corridors and rooms was removed, treated, and delivered to the relevant entity for environmentally friendly disposal.

  • Floor Cleaning: After removing the old carpet, emphasis was placed on comprehensive floor cleaning. The cleaning process was thorough to eliminate any residue from the old adhesive, ensuring the floor surface was ready to receive the new plastic tiles.

  • Floor Repair and Leveling: Any damage to the floor was meticulously repaired. Weights were precisely adjusted to ensure the floor was level and stable before the floor-covering process began.

  • Preparation and Application of Plastic Tiles: Plastic tiles were prepared and applied with high precision using the appropriate adhesive by the required standards.

  • Daily Cleaning: Daily site cleaning was considered during work. The site's cleanliness was ensured, and no work residues were left for the next day.

The floor covering works at the Technological University were completed and met the required standards. All details and directives from the supervisory committee were considered, and these activities contributed to improving the campus environment, making it more attractive and comfortable for students and staff. This ongoing effort in developing and maintaining facilities reflects the dedication and commitment of the Technological University to providing an exceptional educational environment.
